Using SiteProof on Your Own Phone

Please read this. It explains what this app does on your phone.

1. Why you have this app.

Your employer uses SiteProof to prove the work their crews do. They
have asked you to install it on your own phone. SiteProof, Inc.
("SiteProof") runs the app; your employer decides who uses it and what
work you are assigned.

2. What the app records, and when.

While you have a job open on your screen, the app records:

  - Your location, roughly once every couple of minutes
  - Your location and the time when you start and finish a job
  - The photos you take for the job

That is all of it, for where you are.

2b. Checking in.

When you open the app, it tells your employer two things: that your
phone has today's job list, and when it last connected. That is so
your dispatcher knows you have the right work before you set off, and
so nobody sends you somewhere you never got the message about.

It happens on any day you open the app, including a day you have no
jobs. On a day with no jobs, that is the only thing it records —
nothing else at all.

It does not include where you are. Your location is still only
recorded while a job is open on your screen, as described above.

3. What the app does NOT do.

  - It does not record your location when the app is closed, or when
    you are not working a job. It cannot: it only runs while it is
    open on your screen.
  - It does not record your location before your shift, after your
    shift, or on your days off.
  - It is not a timeclock. Checking in says your phone has the right
    work on it. It does not say whether you started, whether you were
    on time, or how long you worked.
  - It does not use your microphone or camera on its own — the camera
    only opens when you tap to take a photo.
  - It does not read your contacts, messages, photo library, or
    anything else on your phone.

4. You can say no to location.

If you do not allow location, or your phone cannot get a signal, the
app still works. You can still take your photos and finish your job.
Location is extra information for your employer, not a lock on your
work — nothing in the app will stop you finishing a job because of
where your phone thinks you are.

5. Who sees this.

Your employer sees your jobs, photos, times and locations. The owner
of the property you serviced sees the same information for their own
property only — that is the "Share-with-Owner Grant" you also accept.

5b. What Hofund Labs does with it, and what you are agreeing to.

SiteProof is built by Hofund Labs. By accepting this, you agree that
Hofund Labs may combine the records of the work you do with records
from other companies using SiteProof, and with weather information for
the places and times the work happened, to produce grouped industry
figures — for example, how long it typically takes to clear a lot of a
certain size in a certain depth of snow.

Please read the next part carefully, because it is the part that
protects you.

  - Anything Hofund publishes or gives to anyone outside the company
    is GROUPED. It is never a list of jobs, and it never names a
    person, a company or an address.
  - Your name, your phone number and your email address are never
    sent to Hofund at all. Neither are your photographs. The fact that
    you took a photo, when, and where, is sent — the picture itself is
    not.
  - Your identity in these figures is a scrambled code, not your name.
    A different code is used for each employer, so nothing follows you
    from one company to the next.
  - It is not used to advertise to you, and your records are not sold
    to anyone.

Your employer has their own agreement with Hofund Labs covering the
same thing. This section is yours, so that you are told directly
rather than through your employer.

There is no way to accept the rest of this and refuse this part — it
is one agreement. If you do not want to agree to it, speak to your
employer, the same as for anything else in this document. You can ask
us what we hold about you at any time, whatever you decide — point 7.

6. It is your phone.

The app uses your phone's battery and, when you have signal, a small
amount of mobile data to upload photos. Whether your employer pays you
for that, or offers you a work phone instead, is between you and your
employer.

You can uninstall the app at any time. If you do, you will not be able
to record jobs. Any effect that has on your job is between you and
your employer — SiteProof is not your employer and does not make that
decision.

7. Your data.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to
delete it, by emailing contact@siteproof.co. Some records have to be
kept because they are your employer's proof that work was done; we
will tell you when that applies.
